DV Studio Technologies Creates SDK
for Apollo d2d Software

Yorba Linda, California, 1st October 2001—DV Studio Technologies, LLC (DVST) announced today that it has created a SDK (System Development Kit) based upon its Apollo d2d (DV-to-DVD) software for developers of DVD applications.

According to Dr. Ash Pahwa, DVST’s CEO & Chief Technology Officer, “Our Apollo d2d SDK provides an API (Application Programmers Interface) for DVD Authoring, DVD Premastering, and DVD burning. The SDK is a collection of C++ libraries that accomplish all the low level functions for DVD creation. These libraries are available to developers seeking to integrate DVD creation capabilities into their application. It works under all Windows operating systems (98/Me/NT/2000) and is compatible with all DVD burners currently on the market from Panasonic, Pioneer, and QPS. This support incorporates Firewire and USB 2.0 interfaces used by QPS’s Que! burner range, in addition to SCSI-2 and ATAPI interfaces used by Panasonic and Pioneer.”

Dr. Pahwa continued, “Amongst the most unique elements of the Authoring software is its automatic scene indexing capability—there is no need for developers to create a separate User Interface using complex authoring tools. A specified number of chapter points—which can be accessed by the thumb nail image in the menu—is automatically created by our software.”

The Apollo d2d SDK is available to developers and OEMs within the context of DVST’s OEM sales program.

DV Studio Technologies, LLC provides MPEG compression and DVD creation solutions as an OEM supplier and under its own Apollo trademark.
