Universal DVD Archiving Package
Yorba Linda, California, 15th March 2002—DV Studio Technologies, LLC (DVST) announced today that it is now shipping the newest product in its Apollo range, APOLLO EXPERT ARCHIVER. APOLLO EXPERT ARCHIVER enables those in business or industry with a library of important video content stored on ageing and space-intensive videotape formats to easily archive this footage onto DVD. According to Stephen Godfrey, DV Studio Technologies' VP Marketing & Sales, "In archiving applications, efficiency takes precedence over 'beauty'. Typically, the authoring does not need to be in the same league as that used for theatrical DVDs. APOLLO EXPERT ARCHIVER's exclusive Auto Indexing capability makes possible what is effectively 'hands-off' DVD authoring. The user need only set the index points number from 0 to 16. APOLLO EXPERT ARCHIVER will divide the content into the selected number of equal parts and insert a 'thumb-nail' video frame--automatically. These become chapter points for quick navigation to the desired portion of the content. APOLLO EXPERT ARCHIVER eliminates the need for complex and tedious DVD authoring. In fact, the system can be readily operated by clerical staff via the default settings. This 'hands-off' aspect makes the product ideal for applications where the system must run largely unattended, possibly overnight." The product has been designed to be as universal as possible. Universal in video standards--it supports both NTSC and PAL. Universal on the input side--it accepts video from VTRs of irrespective of tape format via S-Video or Composite Video. And, it accepts .avi files made from Type-1 or Type-2 DV format videotapes as well. Universal on the output side--it sends the DVD image file to all currently available DVD burners via SCSI, Firewire, USB 2.0, or ATAPI. APOLLO EXPERT ARCHIVER is compatible with Windows XP, 2000, and NT (4.0) operating systems. The USA List price is only $1,995.00.
